TANIOBIS Smelting GmbH & Co. KG

TANIOBIS Smelting GmbH & Co. KG is a subsidiary of TANIOBIS GmbH, with its facility in Laufenburg (Baden). With a workforce of approximately 100 dedicated employees, this company specializes in the production and processing of high-quality metal products. Their core strengths lie in the refinement of slag and recycled materials into top-tier tantalum and niobium concentrates, as well as the fabrication of NiNb alloys. Through these operations, TANIOBIS Smelting GmbH & Co. KG plays a crucial role in waste management, resource conservation, and energy savings.

Furthermore, the Laufenburg site is involved in the production of various metal chlorides based on tantalum, niobium, tungsten, and molybdenum

SYNCON PRODUCTION

In our pyrometallurgical multi-stage process, we create synthetic concentrates with competitive concentrations of tantalum and niobium from low-grade raw materials or secondary materials. A unique technology allows for the utilization of a broad raw material base to diversify supply and realize cost advantages.

AMPERTEC CHLORIDES PRODUCTION

The chlorides of tantalum and niobium (TaCl5, NbCl5) are produced in a 2-step process. In the first process step, metals or scrap are reacted with chlorine. In the final production step, the raw chloride produced is further processed into high-purity chlorides by means of rectification.

The high-purity chlorides of tungsten and molybdenum (WCl6, MoCl5) are also produced in a 2-step process. Metal powders are reacted with chlorine at elevated temperatures and the gaseous reaction product is then directly crystallised.

I enjoy working at TANIOBIS Smelting because I appreciate the collegial and family-like environment. Diverse tasks and topics provide both reason and opportunity for me to actively use my professional skills and showcase my strengths.

Thomas Janitzek - Laufenburg

Working at TANIOBIS Smelting means a lot to me as it allows me to be a part of something great. I particularly value the opportunities for personal and professional growth that I’ve had here. I successfully completed the training to become a certified crane and forklift operator, and just this year, I also completed the training to become a certified Production Specialist in Chemistry. As a working parent, I appreciate the flexibility I receive and feel genuinely valued as an employee.
