Statement related to modern slavery & human trafficking

H. C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium GmbH is a leading international manufacturer of tantalum and niobium powders. We contribute to improvements in the quality-of-life with our business activities, products and services, and create value that benefits our customers, shareholders, employees, suppliers and the public.

The UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 (the ‘Act’) creates offences and legally demands that, every year, businesses supplying goods and services in the UK report on the steps they have undertaken to ensure their operations and supply chains are free of human trafficking and slavery. H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium does not, and will not, use forced, indentured or involuntary labor in any of its operations, and will not knowingly utilize any supplier suspected of doing so.

We are committed to essential ethical standards. This commitment is not new. We maintain robust supply chain management systems that seeks to ensure, through regular verification, audit and certification, that its raw materials are sourced in a socially-responsible manner which does not support those engaged in human trafficking.

H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium’s Code of Business Ethics confirms the company’s commitment to uphold all internationally-recognized human rights, such as the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. More specifically, we are committed to ensuring our operations and supply chains are free of human trafficking and slavery and have implemented, and utilize, a supply chain management system that monitors and audits high-risk areas and potentially affected populations. H.C. Starck Tantalum and Niobium also requires its suppliers take all the necessary steps to demonstrate that their operations and their supply chains strictly comply with these commitments
